  This austere white kitchen was isolated from the rest of the house, preventing the homeowners from keeping an eye on their children in the adjoining playroom.

  In addition to new cabinets, appliances, and granite countertops; a hardwood floor was installed and the wall between the kitchen and playroom replaced with a bar.

  Built in the 1920s, this house underwent a complete renovation. During the process, the kitchen was opened up, and one of the windows removed.

  The striking pattern in the granite countertops and lightly stained cabinets are accented by painted walls, recessed lighting, and a new tile floor.

Remodeling these kitchens resulted in a dramatic transformation in both their look and functionality. In some cases the room itself was enlarged by removing a wall while others simply reorganized the existing space.
