I am a small residential renovator + cabinet maker in suburban Maryland. Do higher end baths and kitchens. I am curious about how the decorator-contractor relationship is typically structured … who buys (and marks-up) what? I am presently entering into a project with an ID who wants to control the purchase of all the finishes and some of the subs. Is this proper? I should note that the decorator did not hire or recommend my firm – the owner did. Thanks.
