Whether you’re working on a do-it-yourself project or moving the couch for Spring Cleaning, there’s a chance of injuring your back. Here are a few options to ease the heavy lifting chores. If you have kids then you probably have a wagon… great for hauling trash, tools and gardening stuff. For moving sheetrock, plywood or paneling a skateboard makes a great dolly. Tie-on a towel or piece of carpet to keep the sheets from sliding off and hold them on edge as you roll them into place. No kids? You can make a simple dolly with ¾-inch plywood and some swivel casters. For inside furniture moves over hard surface floors, try resting the piece on a blanket so it slides over the floor as you pull from one spot to another.
