When dust is a concern people often tend to clean more frequently which can make things worse. The typical vacuum draws air in, traps the dirt and then blows the air back out into the same room. Even with best filtration, the smallest stuff, the dust, is simply re-distributed into the air. A central vacuum cleaning system offers powerful deep cleaning but if the power unit is set up to exhaust the air outside, then it leaves indoor air virtually dust-free. For maximum quiet, you may want to place the power unit in the garage or basement. Most systems come with a 30-foot hose that plugs into various outlets situated around the house. The outlets are connected by PVC pipe to the power unit. .
