Coffee filters are inexpensive and plentiful so finding other uses for them is like getting a bonus. Try some of these out! Use coffee filters for the cleaning jobs that usually go to paper towels…they’re tougher and lint free so they’re great for cleaning windows, mirrors and chrome surfaces. They’re also great to layer between delicate dishes or inside cookware to prevent scratches. Their absorbent nature even prevents rust in cast iron skillets. Or use them for straining used cooking oil…just be sure it’s cool first. In the garden they make great liners for planters because they let water out of drain holes without letting out the soil. And if your garden shoes are a little stinky after a day in the yard, sprinkle some baking soda in a coffee filter and put it inside them to absorb the odors.
