Removing unwanted and unpleasant odors in your house doesn’t mean you have to dump harsh chemicals everywhere or constantly burn incense…you just have to go to the source. If you have carpeting, especially if you have pets, this may be the source. Here’s a simple solution. Sprinkle baking soda all over the carpet and then lightly mist it with water. Then scrub the carpet vigorously with a stiff scrub brush to work the baking soda down into the fibers. Once it’s dry vacuum it well and the odors are gone. You can attack smells throughout the house by adding a pleasant scent, like vanilla extract, to the air filter for your heating and cooling system. All the air in the house will be treated several times an hour.
