Scientists have proven that our moods and even our health are affected by how much or how little exposure we have to daylight. Human Beings just seem to crave natural light and during the shorter days of winter it’s in shorter supply so we need to maximize what we get. Besides being a feel-good issue, it’s also an economic and environmental issue because the amount of natural light present in a home can also have a big impact on its overall energy usage. So this winter make the most of what you have. Open the curtains or blinds during the daytime to soak up the sun’s warmth. It might improve your attitude and it will certainly help with the heating bills. Then at sunset you can close them back up to help hold in that heat.
