The outdoor kitchen is becoming a reality in many homes. You can build one regardless of your budget or size of your yard. Families are creating their own retreats centered around their barbeque grill so they can spend more time there with family and friends. If you’re considering a built-in grill remember that the materials adjacent to it must be non combustible and countertop materials have to withstand the weather. So, stone or ceramic tiles are a good choice to meet both of those criteria. If you’re including a refrigerator in the mix be sure it’s designed for outdoor use, protected from rainfall and plugged into an outlet with a ground fault circuit interrupter. Adding a heat source like a gas patio heater, portable fireplace or chiminea will not only extend the number of days each year you can use the area but it will also create a great atmosphere when your family and friends gather there on summer evenings.
