Attractive outdoor lighting doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. In fact the mistake most people make is doing too much. In most cases a little subtle, indirect illumination is all you need and rope lights, or cable illumination systems, are a great way to do that. These lights, which are contained in flexible clear tubing, can be bent, curved, or shortened or to fit almost any application. Rope and cable lighting is great for outlining the perimeter of decks, under hand railings, or along stairs to light the way. The soft indirect glow of these things is much easier on the eyes than a pair of bright flood lights shining down on the deck or patio. And because of the small size, light weight and the fact that you don’t have to hide any wires…installation couldn’t be much easier. Your only limitation is budget, time and imagination.
