Kids love to help with home improvement projects but it’s often a challenge finding something that will catch their attention and suites their skills. So try this one on for size. Make your own customized stepping stones for a pathway or garden decoration. First you’ll need a form and the top 2 or 3 inches of an old five gallon bucket works great. Once you cut it smoothly away from the rest of the bucket you’re ready to mix up some ordinary bagged concrete. When it’s thoroughly mixed pour it into the form scraping off the excess flush with the top of the form. As the concrete sets up the kids can decorate it with hand prints, polished stones or do some custom engraving with a stick. When it’s dry you have stepping stone and a family keepsake.
