For me the most challenging part of laying tile is getting the cuts right. Renting a wet saw seems like a lot of expense for a small project and a scoring cutter only works well if you aren’t near the edge of the tile. If you’re only removing a half inch or so, the foot on the cutter that snaps the tile doesn’t have enough surface area to work with. Instead try creating a snapping guide from two one by fours with a one inch strip of three eighths inch plywood sandwiched in between along one edge. Attach it all together with screws and secure it to a table edge with clamps. Now you can score the tile on the cutter and insert the narrow edge into the slot between the one by fours to make a quick clean snap.
