Knowing how long something will last has a big impact on what you buy, when you buy it and how much you are willing to spend. With that in mind, listen to what the experts say about the life expectancy of some of the things around your house. A wood deck should last about 15 years, a wood fence…about 12 , but an asphalt driveway only averages 10 years. A central air conditioner should make it for 15 years while a window unit will only last for 10. Washers and Dryers are good for around 13 and 14 years respectively. Newer microwaves will run for about 10 years while ranges, both gas and electric, usually keep going for about 20 years. So, before your next big improvement…think about the numbers, prioritize your needs and make a sound choice.
