Anytime you’re using a power tool it never hurts to be reminded of some basic safety tips. Here are some important ones to remember the next time you break out your circular saw. First, make sure you remove any jewelry or loose clothing that might get snagged by the tool. Always wear eye protection and before you even plug in the saw, be sure the blade’s sharp and tight. A dull blade is dangerous on any tool. No matter what you’re doing, never tie back the blade guard! Steady your work and make sure you stand to one side of the tool. When the blade’s at full speed, push the saw forward smoothly without forcing it. And finally, no matter what, never reach underneath the circular saw when you’re using it.
