This time of year seems to bring with it tons of projects, but because the weather has turned colder, the options for where to do them have narrowed. So modify your work plans a little… lots of projects can come inside if you… say…. cover the kitchen table with cardboard to protect it from glue drips or nicks from exacto knives. What you have to be careful about is fumes from glues, solvents and paints. If they’re available, and it’s possible ….use alternative paints and adhesives with Low-VOC formulas. You can even find Water-Based spray paint now that works like traditional spray paint but gives off little odor and cleans up with soap and water. You still may prefer to use it in the garage or basement, but you won’t have to worry about the fumes.
