Since your mower’s been sitting idle for the last few months it will need a little attention before you fire it up this Spring. First, remove the spark plug wire before you check the blade for sharpness and balance. If the blade is dull, remove it and sharpen with a file. To check the balance, put the center hole on a screwdriver or nail. The heavy side will be lower so keep filing until it’s balanced. Clean the housing inside and out and lubricate all moving parts, including the wheels. Then, make sure the gasoline is fresh because the stuff leftover from last year will gum things up. Finally, remember to think safety when you start the mower up and take on the lawn this year.
