Watch The Kuppersmith Project Starting This Week on Today’s Homeowner!
By: Danny LipfordIn categories: Announcement, Green Home, Video

The Kuppersmith Project, which kicks off this week on Today’s Homeowner, is my most ambitious home renovation project ever and features the remaking of a classic American home.

Over the next 13 weeks, I’ll transform this 1926 Tudor style house into a modern, low-maintenance home with a practical, realistic approach to recycling, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
Along the way, I’ll not only demonstrate how to renovate an older home, but address the Top 50 challenges homeowners face around their own house.
The Kuppersmith Project will be featured in a 13-part TV series on Today’s Homeowner with Danny Lipford, which begins airing the week of January 31 through February 6, 2011.
Find out more at The Kuppersmith Project website, and get the latest news on Twitter and Facebook.

Hi Heinz,
If your walls don’t have blocking in the middle of the studs, you could consider drilling 3″ diameter holes in the outside of the siding near the top of each stud area with a hole saw, have insulation blown in the holes, then run a bead of caulking around the outside of each plug and insert the siding plugs back in each hole. This works best if you’re planning to reside your house with vinyl siding or fiber cement, since the hole locations will be hidden.
