In my many years as a remodeler, I’ve found nothing more aggravating than trying to remove a screw that has a stripped head, so I was eager to put the Grabit screw extractor from Alden to the test.
The Grabit can be used on both slotted and Phillips head screws. It has a cone shaped drill bit on one end, that’s used to drill a hole in the screw head, and a matching screw extractor on the other end to remove the screw from the hole.

The Grabit is available in several different sizes and models. While it isn’t cheap, it did a great job of removing stripped screw heads in my test, earning it a special spot in my toolbox.
