Though it involves additional labor, installing tile diagonally can make for a more interesting pattern. To create even more visual appeal, inset small accent pieces where the tiles meet or add a contrasting border around the outer edge. Watch this video to find out more.

Hey Danny – I saw a designer at a show in LA. I saw this post and I thought you would be interested in his work.
His name is Daniel Ogassian – he designs/manufactures futuristic ceramic and concrete wall and floor tiles with warm and organic textures.
