Innovative Way to Seal Out Dust During Remodeling

Containing dust is very important when working on a renovation or remodeling project inside your home. While you can staple plastic over openings and doorways to keep the dust in or out, it can make it difficult to gain access to the room when needed.

A better solution that I found recently is a peel-and-stick, zipper system called Zip n Close. Here’s how it works:

  • Cover the opening with plastic or housewrap.
  • Peel off the backing and apply the adhesive zipper vertically to the dust containment material.
  • Unzip the zipper and cut through the dust containment material between the two halves of the zipper.
  • Zip the opening back up to seal off the room.

Now you have easy access to the area using the zipper without having to tape and untape around the perimeter of the opening every time you want to go in and out of the room. Watch this video to find out more.
