I purchased SmartStrand carpeting and experienced terrible fumes from it. The fumes reminded me of chlorine and sickened me. This lasted for months–I kept the windows open for many hours all day everyday. I complained to the manufacturer, but received no meaningful help. Manufacturers need to pay attention to indoor pollution from their products! I’m glad I re-carpeted only a portion of my house; I’m definitely not re-carpeting the rest.
