Nearly four billion trees worldwide are cut down each year for paper. Personally, that number is absolutely staggering to me. One of the key concepts of thinking green is taking very small, easy-to-implement steps to cut down on the waste of our natural resources. Here’s a method that wasn’t available a few short years ago, but one we should all do. Look into going paperless. So many companies today are offering the ability to get your bills online without a paper copy. In addition, many of these same companies allow you to pay your bill online. You can also investigate your own bank’s online services. Many now offer a bill paying system that, again, eliminates the need for mailing a check. So, get rid of the paper trail as much as you can so we can all enjoy more of the wooded trails.
